In the input SDD file you have the possibility to assign a weight for each taxa/character combination. The weightType parameter determines which weight calculation method will be applied :
- The global method calculates the average weight of each character at the beginning (the sum of all weights of a character divided by the number of taxa). The weight of each character remains the same during the entire process.
- The contextual method calculates the average weight of each remaining character at each node, based only on the remaining taxa at this step. In this case the weight of a character can change during the process depending of the weight of this character for each remaining taxa.
